Methodology

Transparent calculation

BuildMeter converts every input to a consistent internal unit, applies the selected allowance, and rounds products up to whole purchasable units.

Net wall area = wall area − openings. The result uses the larger of area-based panel count and a full rectangular row-and-column layout, then rounds packs up.

FAQ

Wall Panel Calculator questions

Why can layout require more panels than area alone?+

Full-height or aligned panels may create offcuts that cannot cover another position.

Can panels be installed horizontally?+

Some systems allow it, but orientation changes rows, columns, joints and support requirements.

Should small openings be deducted?+

Small openings often create extra cutting, so leaving them in the area can provide useful allowance.
