Methodology

Transparent calculation

BuildMeter converts every input to a consistent internal unit, applies the selected allowance, and rounds products up to whole purchasable units.

Joist bead length = joist lines × floor length × beads per line. Add blocking and selected perimeter bead, waste, then round to cartridges and cases.

Subfloor Adhesive Calculator questions

Why is cartridge yield editable?+

Yield depends on cartridge size and bead diameter. Use the product chart for the bead specified by the floor system.

Does adhesive replace subfloor fasteners?+

No. Glued floor systems still require the approved fastener type and schedule.

Should adhesive be applied to too many joists at once?+

No. Many manufacturers advise applying only enough adhesive for one or two panels so it does not skin before placement.
