Methodology

Transparent calculation

BuildMeter converts every input to a consistent internal unit, applies the selected allowance, and rounds products up to whole purchasable units.

Heads = round up (area ÷ coverage per head). Maximum heads per zone = usable source flow ÷ flow per head. Zones = round up (heads ÷ maximum heads per zone).

FAQ

Sprinkler Zone Calculator questions

Why reserve some available flow?+

A reserve reduces the chance that small supply changes leave the zone below the required operating flow.

Is square-foot coverage enough to lay out heads?+

No. Proper design uses head-to-head spacing, nozzle patterns, wind exposure and matched precipitation.

What does a negative pressure margin mean?+

The entered source pressure is below the minimum head pressure plus the entered pipe and valve loss allowance.
