Methodology

Transparent calculation

BuildMeter converts every input to a consistent internal unit, applies the selected allowance, and rounds products up to whole purchasable units.

Required edge = rectangular perimeter − excluded edges + additional edges. Pieces = round up (required edge × allowance ÷ stock length). Spikes are estimated from purchased length and entered spacing.

FAQ

Paver Edge Restraint Calculator questions

Which edges can be excluded?+

Edges held by a rigid wall, curb or other approved boundary may not need separate restraint, depending on the installation.

Do curved edges need more material?+

Usually yes. Curves can require extra cuts, flexible products and closer anchoring.

Why add spikes at piece ends?+

The estimate includes a small allowance for securing stock-piece ends in addition to regular spacing.
