Methodology
Transparent calculation
BuildMeter converts every input to a consistent internal unit, applies the selected allowance, and rounds products up to whole purchasable units.
Preliminary blade span = sizing factor × √(room area ÷ fan count). Air changes use total rated airflow divided by room volume. Energy = watts × fans × hours.

Worked numerical example
A 16 ft × 14 ft room is 224 ft². With the editable 3.2 in/√ft² factor and one fan, the preliminary span is about 48 in. A 4,500 CFM fan in a 9 ft-high room represents roughly 134 theoretical air changes per hour before real-room airflow losses.
