Methodology

Transparent calculation

BuildMeter converts every input to a consistent internal unit, applies the selected allowance, and rounds products up to whole purchasable units.

Net wall area = wall length × height − openings. The allowance is applied before veneer boxes and mortar bags are rounded up.

Are corner pieces included?+

No. Measure outside corners separately and follow the supplier’s linear-foot or linear-metre coverage.

Should I deduct every opening?+

Deduct large doors and windows, but many installers leave small penetrations in the allowance.

Does the estimate include lath?+

No. Lath, fasteners, membranes and flashing are separate system components.
