Worked numerical example
A 60 m² surface at 10 kg/m² requires 600 kg; 25 kg bags round the order to 24 bags before allowance.
Purchasing and rounding
Convert net surface area to material using the selected plaster's published consumption at the intended thickness. Round the resulting mass to whole bags and keep extra leveling coats separate; badly uneven backgrounds can use far more material than a uniform finish-coat calculation.
Interpret the result
The result estimates plaster for a uniform coat over the measured area. It should not be interpreted as a fixed bag count when substrate flatness, coat system or product density differs from the assumptions; use the manufacturer's kg/m² guidance for the exact product.

Can one coverage rate be used for every plaster?+
No. Base coat, finish coat and repair plasters can have very different thicknesses and yields.
Should damaged or uneven walls use more material?+
Often yes. Levelling irregular surfaces can increase average thickness and consumption.
