Methodology

Transparent calculation

BuildMeter converts every input to a consistent internal unit, applies the selected allowance, and rounds products up to whole purchasable units.

Stacked volume = length × height × depth × stack quantity. Full-cord equivalent = stacked volume ÷ 128 ft³, or ÷ 3.6246 m³.

What is a full cord?+

A full cord is 128 cubic feet of neatly stacked firewood, commonly represented by a 4 ft × 4 ft × 8 ft stack.

Is a face cord always one-third of a cord?+

Only when the face is 4 ft × 8 ft and pieces are 16 inches long. Seller terminology can vary.

Does this estimate weight?+
