Order area = slab length × width × overlap factor. Sheets = round up (order area ÷ sheet area) + extras.

How to use this estimate in a real project

Estimate welded-wire reinforcement sheets or rolls from slab dimensions, required laps and stock sizes while keeping reinforcement design separate from quantity planning.

Calculation steps

  1. 1Measure the reinforced slab area by section.
  2. 2Reduce stock coverage for the specified side and end laps.
  3. 3Lay out whole sheets or roll widths across each section.
  4. 4Round upward and add spare material for cuts.

Worked numerical example

A 24 ft × 30 ft slab covers 720 ft². With 6 in laps and 5 ft × 10 ft sheets, the effective sheet coverage is smaller than 50 ft²; the layout requires 16 sheets before adding handling allowance.

Order by full sheet, roll or bundle and verify wire designation, spacing and corrosion protection.

Interpret the result

The count shows purchasing quantity, not reinforcement capacity or correct placement height.
