Build a transparent concrete-slab budget from area, thickness, material volume, concrete price, reinforcement, base, forms, labor and equipment. It is a planning estimate rather than a contractor quotation.

Calculation steps

  1. 1Calculate slab volume from confirmed area and thickness.
  2. 2Apply the selected placement allowance and supplier rounding.
  3. 3Add base, reinforcement, forms, joints, finishing and curing as separate lines.
  4. 4Include delivery minimums, pump or access costs, tax and contingency.

Worked numerical example

A 900 ft² slab at 4 in thick requires 11.11 yd³ geometrically. With 8% allowance and concrete at ₪520 per yd³, concrete alone is about ₪6,240 before delivery, pumping, reinforcement, base and labor.

Purchasing and rounding

Request quotes using the same scope and units. Separate fixed mobilization costs from unit rates so small-project premiums and supplier minimums remain visible.

Interpret the result

Cost per square foot or metre is meaningful only when scope is consistent. A low material-only number should not be compared with a complete installed bid.

Why add a concrete allowance?+

Subgrade variation, form tolerances, spillage and supplier batching can make the theoretical volume insufficient.

Does the calculator design reinforcement?+

No. It provides only an editable cost allowance; reinforcement type and spacing require project-specific design.
