Use this calculator to estimate stucco or plaster coat volume and package count from net wall area, selected coat thickness and product yield. Assembly selection, lath, weather barrier, control joints and curing must be planned separately.
Calculation steps

Worked numerical example
A 1,200 ft² wall receiving a 3/8 in base coat contains 37.5 ft³ before allowance. At 0.75 ft³ per bag and 12% waste, order 56 bags.
Purchasing and rounding
Published coverage is tied to coat thickness. Do not use finish-coat coverage for a base coat or assume all premixes have the same yield.
Interpret the result
Material quantity rises directly with thickness. Uneven masonry or leveling work can consume substantially more than the nominal coat.
