Methodology

Transparent calculation

BuildMeter converts every input to a consistent internal unit, applies the selected allowance, and rounds products up to whole purchasable units.

Slab volume = length × width × thickness × quantity. Weight = placed volume × concrete density. The order allowance applies to purchased volume, not the finished slab weight.

FAQ

Concrete Slab Weight Calculator questions

Does reinforcement add weight?+

Yes. This estimate covers concrete only unless the entered density intentionally includes reinforcement.

Why separate placed volume from order volume?+

The placed slab follows its geometry, while the purchased quantity may include waste, uneven subgrade and handling losses.

Can this be used for demolition hauling?+

It provides a planning estimate, but broken concrete bulk volume, embedded steel and hauler weight limits must also be considered.
